Parents are the most important people in a child’s life; their well-being depends on their care and support. With the arrival of the baby in kindergarten, this connection should not weaken. And for the full development of their son or daughter, mothers and fathers must actively participate in the life of the preschool educational institution. In the middle group, children become more independent, inquisitive, their speech develops quickly, but at the same time, children are still too keen on games and have unstable attention. The teacher’s task is to help parents overcome this duality, better understand their child, and also advise them on various aspects of children’s upbringing.

Theoretical aspects of working with the parent team in kindergarten

In general, work with parents in a preschool institution is aimed at solving the following tasks:

Help moms and dads understand various aspects of preschool pedagogy and psychology.
Prevent inappropriate actions towards the baby. Indeed, depending on the type of character and temperament of the child, a certain approach is required.
Involve the family in cooperation - jointly solving problems of an educational and educational nature (production of didactic materials, attributes for games, assisting children in mastering educational fields, participation in leisure and open events).
Help bring the parent team closer together.

Currently, teachers have developed many effective forms of interaction with parents in order to involve them in the educational process. Among them we can distinguish traditional and non-traditional ones.

This division is very arbitrary, since recently many innovative ideas have taken root and are often practiced by teachers.

Traditional forms of interaction

Conversations (both group and individual) are the most accessible form of establishing contact with the family. During them, the teacher conveys certain information to parents, listens to their point of view, and answers questions. An individual approach is especially important here, since all adults, like children, are different and have their own characters, attitudes, personal and professional prejudices. The conversation should begin with neutral questions, smoothly moving to the main topic. Even if a teacher wants to point out shortcomings in the behavior of a particular child, then the conversation needs to start with his personal strengths. Examples of topics for conversations: “Cultivating hard work in a preschooler,” “How to help a child become more independent,” “Why hardening is important.”
Thematic consultations. Unlike a conversation, they are aimed at giving parents specific, qualified advice. Consultations can also be group and individual, planned and unscheduled. Examples: “Testoplasty for children 4–5 years old”, “Work education of a child of the fifth year of life”, “How to develop mathematical abilities at home”.
Parent meeting is the most common form of work. As a rule, meetings are held once a quarter (if the teacher wishes, this can be done more often) and are a discussion of accumulated issues. However, for parents to have a positive attitude towards this event, it must be interesting, creative, and not just come down to a monotonous sorting out of current problems.
Family participation in the group’s project and experimental activities. Moms and dads collect the necessary information, create their own presentations, colorful collages, wall newspapers, make crafts together with their children, and draw pictures. Examples of such work are the creation of a family hand-made book (for example, on the topic of a healthy lifestyle), a wall newspaper about how the family spends its leisure time, and crafts made from natural materials on the theme “Gifts of Autumn.”
Labor activity of parents. This includes landscaping the kindergarten, decorating the plots, and participating in environmental events (“Bird Feeder”, “Gifts of Golden Autumn” - collecting natural materials for children’s crafts).
Mini reports. This is regular (for example, weekly) informing parents about the life of their children in kindergarten: what new things have been learned, what phenomena have been observed, what song they have learned, etc. It is better for the teacher to do this in writing and post the information for review in the locker room.
Sports activities are very useful activities for strengthening family relationships and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Kids always get bright positive emotions from competitions in which their mother and father take part. Such events certainly carry a festive atmosphere. But we must remember that any competition increases the likelihood of children’s experiences, so the presenter-teacher must skillfully place the necessary emphasis.
Master classes for parents. They can be carried out by a teacher (for example, teaching some non-traditional visual technique for practicing with children at home), a speech therapist (articulation gymnastics to develop correct pronunciation), a nurse (massage of the ears to stimulate biologically active points, hardening massage of the feet, exercises for the hands , breathing exercises, exercises to relieve visual fatigue).
Open screenings for parents. During these classes, moms and dads get an idea of educational activities in a preschool institution. The teacher can give parents the role of an outside observer or involve them during the lesson (answering questions that cause difficulties for children, helping in making crafts, etc.).
Family visit. The purpose of such activity is to become familiar with the conditions in which a particular child is being raised (repeated visits are organized if necessary). A variation is a family examination to provide financial assistance, influence parents, and protect children's rights.

Preschool pedagogy today pays more and more attention to the relationship between preschool educational institutions and the family. The participation of parents in the life of a kindergarten helps them better understand their children and transform theoretical knowledge into the joy of communicating with their baby. Currently, one of the pressing problems of humanity - raising children - is being discussed by parents, teachers, psychologists and sociologists. Research by domestic sociologists shows that parents of preschool children consider raising a child among their important life values. The role of the family is to gradually introduce the child into society so that his development is consistent with the nature of the child and the culture of the country where he was born. It is in the family that the child’s personality is formed and developed, and he masters the social roles necessary for adaptation in society. A person feels a connection with his family throughout his life. The direct function of the family as a social institution is to teach the child: the social experience that humanity has accumulated; the culture of the country, its moral standards, traditions of the people.

The crisis of modern families is expressed in the aggravation of the difficulties of family education and weakening attention to spiritual values. Material values often prevail over spiritual ones, so children’s ideas about kindness, mercy, generosity, justice, tolerance, citizenship, and patriotism are distorted. The lack of a conscious attitude among young parents towards their role, a decrease in social attitudes towards the upbringing and education of children, inconsistency in ideas about the goals, objectives of education, patterns of mental development of the child - all this negatively affects the stability of the young family and the full development of the child’s personality, increases emotional tension in family, negatively affects the development of children.
The most important condition for ensuring the holistic development of the child’s personality is the development of constructive interaction between the preschool institution and the family.
